On Sunday Afternoon, members of the Cutchogue Fire Department were invited to be a part of a special Dedication ceremony held by the Greenport Fire Department.

The Greenport Fire Department was formally dedicating a new Ladder truck for the Phenix Hook and Ladder Co. The new truck, unit 8-3-5 is a 2023 Pierce Enforcer tower ladder that was officially placed in service last year.

As part of the days festivities a traditional wet-down held to officially "christen" the new trucks.

A wet-down is a long standing fire service tradition where neighboring departments are invited to bring apparatus to officially welcome the new trucks into service by showering them with water.

CFD Quint 8-5-3 along with trucks from the Greenport, Shelter ISland, East Marion, Mattituck and Southold Fire Departments participated in the ceremony.

Following the ceremony all of the participants and guests were invited to a reception at the Third St. Firehouse.

The Officers and members of the Cutchogue Fire Department would like to congratulate the members of the Greenport Fire Department & Phenix H &L , on their latest acquisition, May it bring you many years of safe service.

Congratulations from CFD
