| Early Saturday Mornming at approximately 4:40 a.m. the Cutchogue Fire Department was requested to assist the Jamesport Fire Department at the scene of a working structure fire on Sound Avenue in Northville.
Police and Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy smoke and fire consuming a two-story farmhouse.
CFD Provided assistance by responding with a Rapid Intervention team to stand-by at the scene.
The crew made the response aboard Engine 8-5-5 and once on scene the crew was reassigned to assisted firefighters operating on the fireground. CFD firefighters helped man a hoseline to the rear of the home to help battle the blaze.
Additional mutual Aid was called in from the Riverhead, Mattituck, Flanders & Southold F.D.'s who responded to the scene or stood by covering Jameport's district.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Riverhead Town Fire Marshal
Units operated on scene for nearly 2 hours. |
