Over the past couple of months construction of our new firehouse has continued with the site preparation, drainage and concrete foundations being completed.
With all of those tasks being completed, Thursday marked an important milestone for the project as the first piece of structural steel was installed in what is to become the southeast corner of the building.
Crews using a large crane began to assemble the steel structure of the building and will continue to do so over the next few weeks. The crane could be seen towering over the village as work took place.
This part of the construction will be done in several phases as additional steel is set to arrive.
We are eager to see the progress continue as the building begins to take shape.
The members of the Cutchogue Fire Department thank our community for your continued support as we embark on this new endeavor.
As a reminder, CFD has worked diligently to ensure that we remain fully operational and prepared to respond to any emergencies during the construction project.
All Emergency Equipment and communications equipment has been moved to our storage buildings on the District property across from the old firehouse. A dedicated houseman will still be on hand from 7am to 11pm for any assistance.
All meeting, business, and administrative offices for the Department and Fire District have been moved to the CFD Annex located at the corner of Route 25 and Harbor Lane.
Please check back often as we will continue to provide updates as the project progresses.
