On Saturday Morning in preparation for Memorial Day, a contingent of members from the Cutchogue FD came together to place flags on the graves of our local Military Veterans and CFD members that are buried in the Cutchogue Cemeteries.

This event is an ongoing project that has been made possible by the efforts of Jim Fogarty Sr. who started to map out the graves of known veterans and CFD members throughout the Sacred Heart and Cutchogue Cemeteries as he went on his daily walks.

We hope that this annual tradition at CFD that will continue for many years to come.

These flags represent a small token of appreciation in recognition of the US Military Veterans and CFD members that have served both the Country and our community.

On this Memorial Day, Cutchogue Fire Department would like to take the time to thank all of those who have selflessly made the "ultimate sacrifice" for the freedoms and rights we enjoy.

Your sacrifice shall not be forgotten.
