Today, we close a chapter in our 96-year history and begin to write a new one.
This morning the demolition phase of our existing firehouse began. Excavators began tearing down the old building in order to begin the site preperation for the new construction.
Over the past several months contractors have been peparing the building in order to begin for this phase of the project.
Thank you to our community for your continued support as we officially begin our new building project.
While today may be bittersweet to some, the design team has worked hard to ensure that several of our favorite historical features will be carried over into the new design, blending the past with the future. We eagerly look forward to what's ahead in the years to come.
Throughout the past year Commissioners, Chiefs and officers have been working diligenlty to ensure that CFD remains fully operational and prepared to respond to any emergencies during the construction project.
All Emergency Equipment and communications equipment has been moved to our storage buildings on the District property across from the firehouse. Like our existing firehouse, dedicated houseman will still be on hand from 7am to 11pm for any assistance.
All meeting, business, and administrative offices for the Department and Fire District have been moved to the CFD Annex located at the corner of Route 25 and Harbor Lane.
Please check back oftern as we will continue to provide upsdates as the project progresses. |
