Mourning a Loss: Ex-Chief and Ex-Commissioner John M. "Jack" Lademann has answered his last Alarm

It is with deep regret and sorrow that the Chiefs of the Cutchogue Fire Department, announce that Ex-Chief & Ex-Commissioner John M. Lademann has answered his last alarm.

"Jack" as he was known to many, passed away peacefully at his home on October 31st. He was 88 years old.

He was a 62 year member of the Cutchogue Fire Department joining CFD in 1959.

Jack served as Chief of the Cutchogue Fire Department in 1971 and 1972 and at the time of his passing was Cutchogue Fire Department's most senior Ex-Chief.

He also served the residents of the Cutchogue Fire District, on the board of Fire Commissioners, by serving as a Fire Commissioner from 1981-1985.

Jack was a longtime member of the Fire Police Squad and until recently remained active socially, serving in the pits at the annual Chicken BBQ for many years, and regularly attended annual dinners with the chiefs and commissioners.

He was a past president of the North Fork Volunteer Fireman's Association and was a retired investigator for the Suffolk County Department of Consumer Affairs.

The Funeral Arrangements are as follows:

The family will receive visitors Friday, November 5th, from 3 to 7 p.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck.

***A Firematic Service will be held on Friday Evening at 6:30pm.

Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, November 6th , at Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery located on Depot Lane in Cutchogue.

The Chiefs, Officers and Members of the Cutchogue Fire Department would like to extend our heartfelt condolences the Lademann family and all of Jack's's friends here at CFD.

Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time.
