On Saturday August 20th, members from the CFD Fire Police Squad traveled to the Suffolk County Fire Academy in Yaphank to participate in the 2016 Fire Police Field Day.
This event which is in its 2nd year of existence is an excellent training opportunity because it brings together fire police members from throughout Suffolk County for a day of training and information sharing.
The events purpose is to provide training and discuss methods on how to ensure the safety of the Fire Police while securing the emergency scenes from traffic and bystanders.
Fire police squads were encouraged to bring their equipment and vehicles to the training so it could be displayed for other departments to gain ideas and demonstrate new and different equipment.
The event had over 115 attendees representing 28 different Fire Departments.
Thank you to the staff Suffolk County Fire Academy for hosting the event and the Fire Police Associations who helped coordinate the event. |
