Passing of a Brother: Firefighter John Cullen Answers his Last Alarm

It is with deep regret that the Cutchogue Fire Department announces that Firefighter John Cullen has answered his last alarm.

John passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday evening.

Besides being a current member of the Cutchogue Fire Department, John was a Life Member of the Centereach F.D. and a past member of the Central Islip F.D. He was a member of the Brookhaven Town Fireman's Museum, and active member of the North Fork Fire Police Assoc. and S.C. Emerald Society.

John moved to Cutchogue several years ago and remained an active member of the Cutchogue Fire Police Squad up until his passing.

Visiting hours were held at the Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue on Thursday February 28th and on Friday March 1st with Firematic services will be held on Friday evening.

A Firematic Funeral in cooperation with the Centereach F.D. was held on Saturday March 2nd at Our Lady of Good Council Church in Mattituck.

During his final ride, John was carried aboard "Sweet Pea" the Centereach FD Antique to his final resting place at the Cutchogue Cemetary.

The Chiefs Officers and fellow members of CFD wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to Firefighter Luis Serrano, Lou's wife Sharyn (Cullen), and the entire Cullen and Serrano Families.

Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time
