Construction of our new firehouse has continued steadily with the steel frame of the building and concrete floors are now complete.
The progress can be readily seen as the shape of the building is now visible and some of the design features and roof line can be seen.
This week concrete work continued as concrete for the main truck floor and first floor lobby area was completed. On Friday Morning a steady stream of cement trucks entered the site throughout the morning to finish the job while a team of workers leveled and spread the many tons of concrete.
The concrete floors on the second floor and roof level were poured several weeks ago. Installation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing components and walls has all started on the upper floors.
In the coming week, concrete block work is expected to start on the first floor.
Please check back for continued progress
The members of the Cutchogue Fire Department thank our community for your continued support as we embark on this new endeavor.
As a reminder, CFD has worked diligently to ensure that we remain fully operational and prepared to respond to any emergencies during the construction project.
All Emergency Equipment and communications equipment has been moved to our storage buildings on the District property across from the old firehouse. A dedicated houseman will still be on hand from 7am to 11pm for any assistance.
All meeting, business, and administrative offices for the Department and Fire District have been moved to the CFD Annex located at the corner of Route 25 and Harbor Lane.
Please check back often as we will continue to provide updates as the project progresses.
