Mutual Aid - CFD Assists Southold FD at Commercial Fire at Port of Egypt Marina

Early this morning CFD Volunteers were awoken at 1:35 am to assist the Southold Fire Department at the scene of a working commercial fire at the Port Of Egypt Marina in Southold.

SFD units under the direction of Chief Ty Cochran arrived to find a working fire in the main showroom building.

A passing Southold Town Police patrol unit discovered the fire when he heard the sprinkler alarm sounding and saw water coming from the building.

The Cutchogue Fire Dept. was requested to respond to the scene with a Rapid Intervention Team. (R.I.T.)

CFD Heavy Rescue 8-5-5 made the response with a crew of 8.

Once on scene CFD firefighters stood by in the event of any firefighter emergencies

A good job by Southold Firefighters made quick work of the fire, confining damages to a small area.

CFD Firefighters were on scene for approximately 1 hour being released.
