A Pair of Collisions on Wednesday

On Wednesday September 6th CFD was kept busy responding to 2 separate motor vehicle crashes over the course of the afternoon.

The first collision occurred at the intersection of Route 25 and Alvah's Lane at 12:38 p.m.. The two vehicle collision resulted in minor injuries.

Firefighters had to utilize a hydraulic rescue tool to open a drivers door of the vehicle to gain access to one driver. Firefighters stood by until the road was able to be reopened to traffic and CFD Fire police assisted with Traffic Control.

Later in the afternoon at approximately 2:00 p.m. CFD was dispatched for another reported Motor Vehicle Accident, this time occurring at the intersection of Route 25 and Pequash Ave.

Police and Fire Department units arrived to find a two vehicle accident involving a large dump truck.

The truck had truck a small sedan and after attempting to avoid the collision struck a utility pole and embankment.

All parties were uninjured. Firefighters arrived on scene and controlled any leaking fluids and controlled any hazards. Both drivers were evaluated on scene by members of the CFD Rescue Squad.

Crews were on scene for 40 minutes. STPD units stood by until the truck could be towed.
