On Monday morning, the members of Cutchogue Fire Department came out to honor those in the United States Armed Forces who gave up their lives for our country.

The officers & members of the CFD, the CFD Marching Band, and Ladies Auxiliary, marched through the streets of Greenport as participants in the Annual Southold Town Memorial Day Parade which was held this year in Greenport Village.

The parade began at 10 AM at the corner on 1st and Main Streets and included Veterans of the United States Armed Forces, various school and community groups, and many of our local fire departments.

There were many spectators along the route, many waving small flags and applauding as the participants marched by. The parade continued through the heart of Greenport village and concluded at the Greenport Firehouse.

Before the parade stepped off, a ceremony was held at Steamboat Corner to remember and pay tribute to the brave men and women of the US Military who gave their lives so we may continue to enjoy the freedoms of our country.

After the parade, the members of the CFD returned to the firehouse to enjoy an old fashioned barbecue with friends and families.
