Afternoon Brush Fire Damages the Side of a Home

On Monday May 15th, Cutchogue Firefighters responded to the Nassau Point area of Cutchogue for a brush fire located near a home on Fisherman's Beach Rd.

The call came from by an area resident who reported a that he could see a fire burning in front of his neighbors home.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a small section of mulch that was still burning in the front garden, and started to extend to the exterior siding of the home.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire using several water extinguishers from Brush Truck 8-5-12 and Engine 8-5-3. They gained access to the home, removed the damaged siding, and checked the wall of the home for any extensions.

Units were on scene for 30 minutes.

Units: Chief 8-5-30, Brush Truck 8-5-12, Engine 8-5-3, Fire Police 8-5-6
