On Friday morning the Cutchogue Fire Department recieved a special donation courtesy of the Capital-One Bank.
Acting like Santa's elves, employees representing the Cutchogue and Mattituck Capital-One Branches, stopped by CFD to make a generous donation in support of our 3rd annual "Stuff the Seligh" 5k race and Toy drive.
The donation was in the form of $500 worth of toys that will in turn be distributed to several needy charities that include the Community Action Southold Town, Southold Presbyterian Church and the Butterfly Effect Project in Riverhead in time for the Christmas Holiday.
Literally, these toys stuffed our sleigh, and will be combined with those collected during tommorrow's race and will no doubt help bring smiles to many children in our area.
Chirstmas is a time of giving, and the Officers and members of the Cutchogue Fire Department would like to thank the Captial-One Bank, and the staff of our local branches for their generosity and the support they give us throughout the year.
In addition to the toys, Capital-One is also among a list of sponsors for this years event.
With a favorable weather forcast in our future, third annual “Stuff the Sleigh” 5K run will take place this Sunday, Dec. 14, from 10 a.m. to noon.
A special “Kids’ Fun Run” begins at 9:15 a.m. Entry fees are $30 for individuals or $50 per family.
